Factors influencing implant selection
In this talk we will focus on essential aspects of the implant, such as the surface, the connection, its external morphology and its prosthetic solutions, which are necessary to obtain the best result for our patients.
The selection of the implant, together with the correct three-dimensional placement of the implant, is a key factor in the long-term success of our treatments. We currently have a large number of implants on the market, with different morphologies and connections, which all claim to be successful. However, the long-term clinical reality clearly indicates that the success rates and the presence of peri-implant disease are very different depending on the type of implant placed.
